Announcements:

2013 USDF All Breeds National Trakehner Champion for First Level Junior Rider

It's official! Windchill is the 2013 USDF All Breeds National Trakehner Champion for First Level Junior Rider. Another outstanding year with a show record that documents his quality and success.

This horse is UNFLAPPABLE and is a great confidence builder for a rider interested in showing and bringing home blue ribbons. He is consistent each day. Started by an international trainer and shown successfully by a JR/YR rider, he is soft in the bridle and responsive to the aids having been classically trained and ridden.

He is extremely well behaved and quiet in the hectic show grounds. He is a pleasure at shows and does not spook. Light in the aids but not hot.

Recent x-rays of hocks, front feet and fetlocks are CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN! Share with your vet prior to test riding him.

Windchill's sire, Windfall, was the Olympic Team Bronze Medal winner and 12th individually in Athens. He comes from a long line of international performance stallions (Olympics and Pan Am Games)as well as Elite mares throughout his pedigree.

Windchill's success in the show ring has earned him Champion National rankings with the Trakehners in his first year of showing in 2012. He was the USDF All Breeds Champion in Training Level JR/YR and Reserve Champion Nationally for Materiale 4/5 year old Stallions and Geldings.

His flatwork is solid with good tempo and cadence to carryover into cross training for H/J should that be an interest in the future. He has started work over fences with no refusals and is prepared to show in Baby Green Hunter classes. He is schooled in dressage flatwork to develop his gaits and rideability and schooled over fences for cadence and technique. His scores at USDF recognized shows are consistently in the 8's for straightness and trot work.

He is confirmed first level dressage. He is schooling 2nd and 3rd level movements.

In the 2013 show season he showed in 10 USDF recognized First Level classes. He was in 1st place for 8 of thoses classes and 2nd place for one class. He was also awarded Champion of Show multiple times.

In the 2012 show season he showed in 14 USDF recognized classes. He was in 1st place for 12 of those classes, 2nd place for two classes and was named Champion of Show twice for Training Level with multiple scores in the 70s. He also qualified for regionals his first time showing. He is working on walk to canter transitions, haunches-in and counter canter.

His safe and sane disposition is apparent as we have introduced both amateur and beginner riders on him. He is forgiving to the less experienced riders while athletic and expressive with advanced riders. The perfect combination of talent and forgiveness!

Fresh from judging the Olympics in London, international judge, Gary Rockwell, two weeks later, evaluated Windchill in a Materiale class and gave him scores above 70% in each of the four categories for walk, trot, canter and overall impression.
