EDUCATION
One of our owners, John, was a chemist for Benjamin Moore Paints for 14 years prior to opening this business. John's technical knowledge of the coatings he sells and his knowledge of problems associated with coatings is not only vast, but that knowledge is made available to all our customers just for the asking. He has seen more problems relating to coatings than any one painter has ever encountered and loves to share his knowledge. John has been involved as an expert witness in legal proceedings and is available to you at no extra charge as a customer seeking in-store advice. Our friendly, knowledgeable employees are trained to ask questions. Sometimes our customers come in our stores with no knowledge of what products to purchase. It is our job to ask the right questions to help properly advise which products, techniques and procedures to follow to achieve the proper results.

HELP WITH COLOR SELECTION
In-store color consultation is a major service Belcaro Paint provides. In 1986, Belcaro Paint pioneered the concept of packaging small quantities of paint in all of the colors in the pallets of the paint manufacturers sold at Belcaro Paint. These small paint "testers", along with our highly trained color experts combine to enable us to help those who come to us for help with the very best advice in the country. Color consulting is an art. Our consultants listen. Even though our customers may think they do not know what color they want, most of the time, they just need help in verbalize and visualizing what they want. There are usually many options on color selection and our consultants work with our customers down deep awareness of what they really want.

PAINT COLOR MATCHING
Really good color matching is not accomplished merely by having a computer assisted spectrophotometer . A color matching computer is a tool that helps paint stores get close to the right color match, however getting close is not always good enough. (Having a power saw does not make a carpenter great. A great carpenter can do his great work faster if he has a power saw.) The same is true with matching paint. A color matching computer can help a great color matcher do his magic faster, but does not make a good color matcher out of a poor color matcher. Some objects, like your dog, some fabrics, inks or the color of your eyes, are not one color but contain many colors or colors that are not possible with the colorants available in paint. We have extremely good color matchers on staff and welcome any match you need but are limited to the relm of possibilities. Please try to give us a little time to do them. Each one is unique and some matches, done right, take more time than others.

STAIN COLOR MATCHING
Although we have, maybe 30 different pre-packaged stain colors on the shelf, it is rare that the stain color we have on the shelf is the right color for you. So most stains, for the critical eye, need to be custom matched. We are good and pretty fast at matching wood stains but we need your help with a few conditions: We need a day or two to do it, we need a good sized sample of the wood that the stain will be applied on, and we need a good target, or sample of what color you want it to look like. If you are in a big rush don't wait until the last minute. We will get the match as quickly as possible.

LOCATING WHAT YOU WANT
Our main objective is to help customers. If we need to call a competitor to accomplish this, that is what we do. If you can give us enouth time, we will try to locate an item we do not have and special order it for you.
